The Senior Manager of Philanthropy Marketing and Communications
will contribute to this vision by joining a growing team of high-performing strategic and creative marketing and communication professionals. The Senior Manager will be an accomplished writer and communicator who will support the growth of our national philanthropy programs, with a focus on ensuring that City of Hope and philanthropy brand messages are delivered through donor event programs, impactful storytelling, and executive communications. Through individual contribution, the Senior Manager will be an integral part of our evolution into a perpetually campaign-ready, donor-centered, leading industry program to support City of Hope’s mission. As a successful candidate, you will: Serve as a key leader of the Philanthropy Marketing and Communications team and contribute to reaching its goal of meaningfully engaging a wide variety of donors, volunteers, faculty, and administrators who are committed to ensuring the long-term success of City of Hope’s mission through philanthropic support and advocacy. Manage high-level Philanthropy Marketing and Communications activities to ensure donor retention, increased giving, and support long-term relationships with COH. Oversee leader talking points for donor events, manage donor storytelling as part of chapter and industry stewardship, and create donor engagement communications that reflect the unique needs of COH’s various donor constituencies. Serve as lead in planning and implementing strategic communication goals for City of Hope’s generous individual and corporate donors, in partnership with Principal and Clinical Major Gifts and Corporate Philanthropy programs, as well as for the Chief Philanthropy Officer’s portfolio, including the Board of Directors. Execute communication projects related to stewardship in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Provide support to senior-level fundraisers and program leaders in strategic planning and relationship management. Lead execution of the strategic vision and plan for donor experience activities and communications to recognize and steward City of Hope donors, volunteers, chapters, and industry partners. Collaborate with relevant Office of Philanthropy partners to support donor-centric, accurate, and efficient data practices surrounding the program. Your qualifications should include: Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in business, philanthropy, or related field. Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements. 5+ years in donor relations experience, with strong preference for experience in development, philanthropy, stewardship role within a fundraising, development, or related field in a non-profit environment. Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills required. Writing samples required. Minimum 3-5 years supervisory experience required.
