As a Sr. Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing advanced software solutions for our Aerospace business. You will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and debugging software applications for the Anthem Avionics Flight Deck User Interface team, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software products. Your expertise in software development and your ability to solve complex technical challenges will be essential in this role.
You will report directly to our Next Generation Avionics team and you'll work out of our Deer Valley location in Arizona on a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the development of cutting-edge software solutions that will drive innovation and enhance the performance of our Anthem Avionics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop, and test prototype user interface software applications using industry best practices
Graphics programming using opengl, xml, user interface tools, and basic process communication in Windows environment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure successful software delivery
Debug and resolve software defects and issues
Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior team members
Stay up-to-date with the latest software development trends and technologies

YOU MUST HAVE
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python
• Experience with software development tools and methodologies
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Experience in the aerospace industry
• Knowledge of safety-critical software development standards and practices
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
