Position Overview:

Under general supervision of may provide basic supportive services such as gathering and verifying patient information, testing preparation and monitoring, documenting routine observations, data acquisition and scoring, and assisting with appropriate interventions for patient safety. May also implement appropriate interventions for patient safety.

EDUCATION:

Meets Medical Board of California requirements

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

PSGT-Polysomnographic Technician from Medical Board of California

EXPERIENCE:

6 months of experience as a Registered Polysomnographic Trainee

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Ability to recognize and provides age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Knowledge of cardiorespiratory function, sleep physiology and neurology is essential in providing the basis for monitoring polysomnograms and recognizing pathology that requires treatment.

Understanding of physics, medical electronics, in-depth medical terminology, with emphasis on pulmonology, neurology, and sleep-related pharmacology.

Knowledge of administration of oxygen, nasal CPAP, suction devices, and ventilatory assist devices in accordance with established protocols.

Ability to work with others in a team environment.

Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.

Basic math and analytical skills.

Demonstrated ability to follow direction.

Pay Range is $40.88 to $51.09 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
