Gondola is hiring: Social Media Manager in Town of Niskayuna

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day programming of the Bills Social Media feeds including writing copy, publishing and maintaining the content calendar. We are looking for someone who demonstrates a strong understanding of memes, trends and internet culture who can execute the look, feel and tone of the Bills social media accounts on a daily basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for the day-to-day posting across social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube
2. Ideate and write copy that is consistent with the social voice of our accounts
3. Manage and develop the Social Media Coordinator
4. Maintain posting schedule and cadence
5. Ideate and create content for Bills social media channels, including but not limited to:
1. Reactive content
2. Memes and trends
3. Sponsored content
4. Community content
5. Cover practices, games and other events
6. Assist with managing live streams of press conferences and other events
7. Guide strategy, support and/or manage Bills ancillary social media channels (Highmark Stadium)
8. Assist and collaborate with photography and video staff on relevant executions
9. Monitor news and social media to identify what is trending in sports and relevant pop culture
10. Actively contribute to a variety of marketing content plans to anticipate the needs and involvement of the social media team
11. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Business Development, Community Relations, Cause Marketing, etc) to ideate and execute on organizational content
12. Analyze social media metrics and adjust strategy to achieve organizational goals

QUALIFICATIONS

1. 3+ years experience in social media content programming
2. Familiar with Adobe Photoshop and Premiere
3. Bachelor's degree in related field

REQUIREMENTS

1. Understanding of trends, memes, viral content and popular culture
2. Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
3. Strong copywriting and communication skills
4. Well versed in football and the NFL
5. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal team members
6. Some experience with Adobe Photoshop and Premiere
7. Previous professional experience managing social media accounts

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

1. Must be able to lift 20 pounds
2. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time (4 hours or more)
3. Must be able to walk/navigate the stadium

SALARY

The target salary for this position is $65,000-$75,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined based on the selected candidate’s skills and experience.
