Essential Job Functions
The Cannon Music Camp Administrative Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and success of Cannon Music Camp. This position will serve as the administrative backbone of the camp, supporting the camp director, faculty, staff, and participants to create an enriching and memorable musical experience for young musicians.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to facilitate efficient camp operations, including managing registrations, coordinating schedules, and handling communications.
- Serve as a central point of contact for students, parents, staff, and University partners, ensuring clear and timely communication among all stakeholders.
- Utilize strong organizational skills and technological proficiency to streamline processes, maintain accurate records, and support the logistical needs of the camp.
- Assist in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that fosters musical growth and positive experiences for all camp participants.
- Support the camp director and faculty in implementing the educational and artistic vision of the program through efficient administrative practices.
- Contribute to the overall success of the camp by demonstrating flexibility, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to excellence in all tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
- Software Proficiency: Fluency in the use of all Google Workspace applications (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Calendar) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mail Merge).
- Music-Related Knowledge: Familiarity with music terminology and practices; basic understanding of music experiences familiar to a K-12 student.
- Administrative Skills: Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail; proficient in data entry, digital file organization, and digital record-keeping.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact both professionally and enthusiastically with campers, parents, staff, faculty, camp director, and University partners.
- Time Management: Capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines; ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer Service: Experience in handling inquiries and providing information to parents and staff; ability to maintain a positive and helpful attitude.
- Technical Aptitude: Basic IT skills and problem-solving abilities; willingness to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; experience working with youth and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Program Support: Skills in assisting with camp logistics, including registration, supply management, and facility preparation.
- Safety Awareness: Understanding of basic safety protocols and emergency procedures as well as required training involving minors on campus.
Preferred Qualifications
Type of Position: Time-Limited-Full Time Staff/Non-Faculty
Work Schedule/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, as well as nights and weekends during the camp session to meet the responsibilities of the position.
Number of Hours Per Week: 40
Number of Months Per Year: 12
Salary Range
Anticipated Hiring Range: $42,007-43,267
