Senior Manager, Public Relations

Reports to: AVP Marketing & Communications

Role Overview

The Senior Manager - Public Relations will act as a senior member of Panerai’s Marketing & Communications team to drive best-in-class PR strategy and coverage for luxury timepiece maison, enhancing brand equity and awareness.

Responsibilities

  1. Drive and secure superior editorial coverage and storytelling across all print and digital outlets & partners to drive luxury positioning, brand awareness and brand equity.
  2. Cultivate and maintain relationships with global, national and regional editors across fashion, lifestyle, entertainment, trade and consumer sectors, as well as with stylists and publicists.
  3. Oversee PR efforts including product launches, events, store openings, press days, partnerships, local market initiatives, Watches & Wonders, and Panerai Xperiences.
  4. Manage media inquiries and sample trafficking between HQ, media outlets, stylists, influencers, and partners for editorial placements, styling, and gifting initiatives.
  5. Collaborate with global market teams to ensure brand strategies and product pushes are aligned with planned PR communications calendar.
  6. Develop compelling seasonal press stories and pitches to align with overarching brand calendars on national and market-specific level.
  7. Develop timelines and communication plans for all PR efforts including product launches, sponsorships, tie-ins, special projects, and key stories.
  8. Develop tailored pitch lists for PR campaigns and initiatives, ensuring alignment with brand objectives.
  9. Track up-and-coming VIPs, digital trends, and key industry opportunities for celebrity dressing and events.
  10. Lead local celebrity and KOL relationships and product seeding for influencer amplification and coverage.
  11. Mentor and manage one direct report, while overseeing day-to-day tasks.
  12. Manage PR budget including invoicing, expense tracking, monthly accruals, and budget management/reconciliation on a topline level and by project.
  13. Prepare ongoing strategy and recap presentations for senior management and HQ reporting.
  14. Systematic reporting on a weekly/monthly basis (coverage monitoring, daily coverage tracking, and monthly reporting, DMR, as well as competitive analysis).
  15. Interface regularly with senior executives in local office and global HQ.
  16. Drive cross-functional collaboration across all departments within organization to drive results across all responsibilities.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) required.
  2. 8+ years of relevant public relations experience in the luxury retail space, ideally with in-house roles; experience in timepiece category preferred.
  3. Strong existing relationships with consumer, luxury, fashion and lifestyle press – endemic watch press a plus.
  4. Master storyteller with proven results of premium coverage, delivering on KPIs & familiarity with DMR.
  5. Excellent communication, writing, project management, presentation, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with exceptional attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  6. Entrepreneurial spirit with initiative, ownership, and accountability for business outcomes.
  7. Expertise in managing multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  8. The ability to perform efficiently in a deadline-driven setting, and flexibility to maintain focus amid change and calm under pressure.
  9. Team player with collaborative mindset and influential skills for engaging with internal and external partners to align toward a common goal.
  10. Ability to manage big picture and small details simultaneously.
  11. A passion for and understanding of luxury and media landscape, engaged with industry news and trends.
  12. Proficiency/familiarity with SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, OCP, DMR, Muck Rack, Cision, Meltwater.

Expected Salary Range: $110k-$130k

Salary will be determined based on relevant skills and experience.
