JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX 5 Atlanta is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, passionate and creative I-Team Producer. The I-Team Producer gathers news and information for investigative news reports and long-form investigative programming; coordinates the work of FOX 5 Atlanta’s award-winning I-Team investigative unit; and produces investigative content for broadcast and digital publication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifies, researches and develops investigative story concepts arising from news sources, email and telephone tips and from enterprise research.
- Discusses and suggests story angles/content with I-Team managers and reporters.
- Works in conjunction with investigative reporters to arrange and sometimes conduct interviews for investigative reports.
- Plans and coordinates the use of graphic elements in investigative stories and programming.
- Works with investigative reporters and Legal Department to review, edit and finalize scripts for investigative stories and programming.
- Interacts with news managers and newscast producers regarding broadcast and digital publication of investigative stories and programming.
- Supports assignment desk and general assignment reporters with research on stories as needed.
- Line produces long-form investigative programming and specials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Communicates clearly and effectively/politely with the public in person and over the telephone.
- Proficient in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred. Minimum of two years of experience in a producing role for a commercial television station or other news organization; four to six years preferred.
