Job Summary

The Interior Designer is accountable for the development and implementation of standardized design concepts, meeting customer specifications while ensuring the highest quality design solutions within corporate policies and design practices.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Developing design-related presentations and assisting in developing proposals, choosing materials, plan development, etc.
2. Developing and completing preliminary designs through final concepts within a standardized program or per specific established corporate design standards.
3. Completing and maintaining all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
4. Following and complying with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintaining departmental design practice standards.
5. Providing a sales presentation package, which may include sketches, renderings, drawings, cost estimates, and sample boards.
6. Collaborating with Project Management and Sales Teams, as well as the customer, to determine architectural preferences, purpose and function of environment, budget, types of construction, fixtures and components to be installed, and other factors that will ultimately affect planning interior environments.
7. Merging findings with knowledge of interior design and formulating an environmental plan to be practical, aesthetic, and conducive to customer requirements.
8. Rendering design ideas in the form of drawings or illustrations, estimating material requirements and costs, and presenting designs for client approval.
9. Remaining current in design technology, trends, and strategic industry information.

Qualifications

1. 10 years of interior design experience, preferably in the consumer environment industry.
2. Ability to read and interpret construction documents, production drawings, and specifications.
3. Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
4. The ability to produce presentation documents.
5. Experience working with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
6. Computer literacy with knowledge of ERP software is an asset.
7. Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to express oneself professionally utilizing both verbal and written communications.
