Job Description
Event Strategies, Inc. (ESI) is a full service event production company based in Alexandria, VA. ESI is in the market to hire audio technicians with a passion to produce both large and small scale events locally and nationwide. Events include conferences, trade shows, concerts, outdoor and indoor political speaking events, traveling shows, and more.
Compensation
- Hourly/Day-Rate pay that is negotiable based on skill level and experience

Qualifications
- Hold a valid driver’s license
- Comfortable executing large-scale events with a large amount of attendees
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Effective in communicating and coordinating with colleagues and clients
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Set up, operate, and maintain audio equipment for events, including microphones, soundboards, amplifiers, and speakers
- Collaborate with event planners, producers, and other technical staff to ensure smooth audio operations
- Perform sound checks before events to ensure optimal sound quality
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues during live events in a timely and efficient manner
- Adjust audio levels and mix sound to provide the best possible experience for attendees
- Ensure the proper maintenance and care of all audio equipment
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment for events
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines during event setups and takedowns
- Stay up to date with industry trends and new audio technology
Experience
- Two (2) years of professional Audio Technician experience is required
- Proficiency in operating various audio equipment, including digital and analog sound systems, mixing consoles, and microphones
- Familiarity with Yamaha DM7, QL5, DM3 consoles
- Familiarity with Yamaha Rio and Tio stageboxes, Dante AVoIP platform
- Familiarity with AVoIP networking
- Familiarity with Nexo STM line array systems
- Strong understanding of sound systems, signal flow, and acoustics
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Flexible schedule and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A degree or certification in audio engineering or a related field is a plus but not require
Environment
- Work is performed at event venues such as hotel ballrooms, conference centers, arenas, concert venues as well as outdoors in amphitheaters, fields, etc. with a large media component.
- You may also have the opportunity to work in the ESI warehouse for gear pulling and equipment maintenance. Team members working times may be irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
