ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This job description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. It is intended to identify the essential functions and requirements of this position. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this job description.Design advertising and marketing materials.Translate design concepts into finished product applying layout and production design principles as required for the assignment.Create online ads for publications according to specs provided.Edit and optimize print, digital, video and audio pieces for general audience, web, sales presentations, and tradeshows.Assist in the preparation and distribution of marketing materials.Maintain graphic files, including logos, photos and art, as well as potential sponsor/advertiser logos and photos.Maintain and deploy digital assets (marquees, banner ads, digital displays, etc.).Maintain integrity of existing brands.Maintain internal publications including design and copy.Copywriting for programs, social, and other materials as needed.Collaborate with members of the marketing and larger Kroc teams on graphic design projects and other shared efforts, including special events and other team priorities.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT:
Uses a variety of office equipment including a computer, telephone, copiers, printers and banner printer. Operate motor vehicles in the execution of some essential functions.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in graphic design, communications or related field preferredOne year of design-related experience crossing multiple media in a deadline-rich environment preferred.
- OR -Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Applicant must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver's license with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army's insurance carrier.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Understanding of design, layout and production process.Demonstrated understanding of file preparation for print production.Demonstrated competence with basic design principles, layout, and effective use of typography.Experience in graphic and computer programs including the Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office products, e-mail, and Internet. WordPress.Ability to match designs to existing brand standards.Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects across multiple mediums including print and web.An organized approach to tracking project progress, as well as an eye for detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual skills preferred.Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to create a sense of team among the staff, and the ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner.Ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule.Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.Exercise good judgment in personal actions and business matters.
