Job Description:
Teaches a full range of Film and Media Arts courses.Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomesPrepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handoutsEvaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinationsMaintains and submits student attendance records, grades and other required documentation by specified deadlinesBe available to students for coachingPeriodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a media-related field2 years of recent professional experience in a preproduction/post-production motion media capacityStrong diverse portfolio representing a professional level of media production and post production for purposes ranging between entertainment, business, documentary, training/tutorial and/or marketingDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skillsSensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population
Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in a media related fieldIndustry train-the-trainer certification in a relevant softwareMembership in industry-recognized professional organization such as the ACE, ASC, DGA, PGA, SOC, ASA, or IATSE5 years of recent professional experience in a preproduction/post-production motion media capacityDemonstrated experience and familiarity with a range of aspects of production, such as producing, planning, scheduling, scouting, camera operation/cinematography, lighting, sound recording, supervising or executing associated motion graphics, and delivery formatsDemonstrated proficiency in video editing, post-production workflow, and media-managementDemonstrated experience in writing/scripting for film or mediaFamiliarity with contemporary production environments, set operations and set etiquetteInterest and knowledge in continued study of emerging digital filmmaking tools and technologiesAdvanced-level expertise in one or more of the above-mentioned aspects of Media Arts/Film Production or PostTeaching experience
Special Note: This is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the 2024-2025 academic year.
