KNXV ABC15, the Scripps station in Phoenix, Arizona, is looking for a creative Specialty Producer to join our team. In this position, you will partner with our Anchors and help build our enterprise brands across multiple platforms. The right candidate will have a keen sense of news judgment and will demonstrate an awareness of how to shape storytelling to most effectively speak to our key audience targets.

While this is a planning position, you will be expected to set up and produce stories, conduct interviews, and occasionally produce shows. Line producing experience is a major plus. Previous MMJs with producing experience who can shoot and edit are also preferred. If you are interested in testing and growing your skills alongside nationally recognized journalists, this is the job for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Write and edit scripts.
• Collaborate with Anchors, Multimedia Journalists (MMJs), and content producers for stories across platforms.
• Manage tip line, emails, and respond to viewers.
• Shoot still and moving video.
• Edit desktop video.
• Utilize graphics and other tools to enhance storytelling.
• Lead special projects, conduct interviews, and develop original story ideas.
• Create or repurpose content to showcase in unique ways.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• BS/BA in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Generally, 5+ years of experience in a related field.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics, and knowledge of libel law.
• Strong multimedia skills and computer proficiency.
• Knowledge of laws impacting operations.
• Proficiency in posting content online.
• Teamwork, adaptability, and excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility for work hours, including holidays, weekends, and evenings.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance.
