Responsible for facilitating the dual-culture (Japanese/American) communication within DAI and between DAI and DIL. Qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor degree from an accredited 4-year university/college. A master’s degree would be a plus. Minimum 5 years as bi-lingual/bi-cultural interpreter/translator. This position has access and exposure to all company information, including the most confidential information. A high degree of maturity is required, and a high premium is placed on maintaining all confidential information (especially personnel related items). Essential Functions: Prompt, regular, and dependable attendance is an essential function of this job. Serve as liaison between Americans and Japanese members in DAI and DIL. Facilitate communications and clear understandings between parties. Assist American personnel better understand Japanese cultural issues (business and society) and Japanese understand American cultural issues. Serve as interpreter for DAI management team. Service as advisor to DAI’s management team. Assist and coordinate contracted interpreters at Orangeburg. Assist management visitors from Japan as needed. Additional assignments as deemed necessary by management. Position:
