Halekulani and Halepuna Waikiki employees live the legacy through the "art of service."POSITION SUMMARYAs an integral part of the Sales team, responsibilities include continuously looking for ways to improve guest experience, from providing exceptional guest service to supporting the overall sales, marketing, and promotional activities of Halekulani and Halepuna. Achieve targeted goals in room nights, revenue, and RevPar by conducting sales calls in the appointed market, participating in industry tradeshows, conducting presentations to reservation centers, negotiating, and contracting wholesale and corporate accounts.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSSolicit business from assigned markets as designated by the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) to reach targeted goals in room nights, revenue, and RevPar. Responsible market segments include:WholesaleTravel TradeCorporateConsortiaRegion of responsibility will be all non-Asian International Markets to include, but not be limited to, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe along with the Local Corporate market.Develop, maintain, and enhance relationships with retail travel agents to increase sales through wholesalers, reservation systems, or direct to hotel.Develop, maintain, and enhance relationships with select Corporate accounts to increase sales.Travel as required to conduct personal sales calls, participate in travel shows, and select industry conferences and receptions for top clients.Conduct telephone solicitations as required to develop new business or close a contract.Develop a result-driven action plan that provides the foundation to reach targeted objectives.Provide designated reports and analysis that are not limited to:Pre-trip ReportDaily Sales Trip ItineraryPost Trip ReportExpensesMonth-end ReportAssist in the development and enhancement of sales programs for targeted markets.Evaluate existing promotional programs and assist in developing new ones as deemed appropriate for the targeted market segment.Maintain a client database that is shared with all sales managers.Maintain complete knowledge of hotel information as changes and enhancements occur.Perform all other duties as may be required or assigned.SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONSIn addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, solely determined by the supervisor based upon the requirements for the hotel.Participate in management training sessions, communication, and planning meetings.Participate in employee and community relation functions.Participate in meetings with clients from Group and FIT sales.Participate in Promotional Events outside of the resort as needed.Interface with guests in outlets on a regular basis for Guest Satisfaction and PR purposes.Assist internal sales and marketing efforts.Increase sales and revenue in ancillary areas such as SpaHalekulani and Food & Beverage.Entertain clients for business purposes.SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTSReports To:

Sales Coordinator IndirectlyEDUCATION/EXPERIENCEMinimum three (3) years hotel sales experience preferred.Minimum two (2) years managerial and supervisory skills.High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate.Any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSValid Driver's License with clean abstract.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESAbility to anticipate guest needs; respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.Ensure familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.Must be able to work without daily supervision.Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to multi-task.Must be able to prioritize tasks while maintaining timeliness.Ability to maintain positive guest relations at all times.Must exhibit a poised and professional image and good voice image.Able to travel away from home base for multiple days/weeks at a time.Ability to work flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Delphi and Epitome knowledge preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
