Job Description
Project Architect:
- Architectural degree required.
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in a Healthcare and/or Commercial Architectural Design Firm.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Legally able to work in the U.S. and be able to pass a Federal Background Check.
- Responsible for leading production of schematic design, design development and construction documents.
- Review documents for Quality Control.
- Design is primarily in the Healthcare industry.
- Strong stable company with growth opportunities.
- Work directly with Project Manager on a day to day basis to ensure completion of concept design.
- May assist Project Manager with preparation of cost estimates, construction administration and specification writing.
- Goal of understanding codes and being able to produce a set of construction documents.

Project Architects Expectations Overview
As a Project Architect, you are accountable for drawing production, team performance, and project collaboration. You will work under the direction of the project architect team captain and project manager/supervisor as needed. You are responsible for the production, quality, content, and coordination of the drawings for each submittal milestone.
The Expectations
- Collaborates strategy for producing submittal documents including project setup, sheet organization, etc. with team captain.
- Learns and practices office drawing standards in collaboration with team captain. Deviations will be coordinated and decided by the team captain.
- Production of drawings required for each submittal based on contract and PG 18-15 design manual.
- Participates in professional development reviews and “Lunch and Learn” sessions.
The Responsibilities
- Produces submittal drawings for a project.
- Shop Drawing tracking and review prior to PM approval. Co-responsible for folder structure.
- Produces Cost Estimate material take-offs.
- RFI tracking and review prior to PM approval. Co-responsible for folder structure.
- Provides Building codes, VA TIL guidelines/Standards, zoning, and planning regulations research.
- Communicates and coordinates the project with team captain and consultants.
- Proficiency in a wide range of software.
- Provide project QA/QC prior to providing team captain check sets.
- Applies production drawing standards to eliminate duplicating information. Define the work in only one location.
- Participates with site visits and field documentation as needed.
- Participates in VA submittal reviews/presentations as needed.
- Can be asked to produce and participate in specifications.
