The Assistant Director of Marketing & Fan Experience serves as the primary marketing contact for Volleyball and Baseball, while serving as the secondary contact for Men’s Basketball and reports to the Associate AD for Marketing & Fan Experience. The position will assist in the Athletic Department’s efforts to maximize revenue and attendance at our events through traditional and non-traditional marketing and promotional opportunities. Serve as a member of the intercollegiate athletics marketing team that is involved in all aspects of marketing for all of our teams, including: planning, advertising, promotion, public relations, program and product development, distribution, and research to meet the department’s goals and objectives. Oversee the management of the marketing student intern program, consisting of hiring, training and developing student staff. Provide exceptional customer service to fans, donors, staff and friends of Purdue University. Provide written and oral communication as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Athletic Administration, Management or related field 1 year marketing, promotions and in-game promotion management Skills Needed
A thorough knowledge and understanding of graphic design using the Adobe Creative Suite Business acumen with understanding of how job responsibilities advance departmental goals. General creative thinking and idea generation skills Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to perform accurate detail-oriented work, the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population and strong interpersonal skills On-the-job training will be provided for using the Paciolan/Adobe platform. Adherence to all applicable NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations What is Helpful
Experience working with an e-mail marketing platform Marketing/Promotions or sales/advertising experience within a Division I or pro sports team Experience with script writing software, i.e. ShoFlo
