The Role and Responsibilities
The Assistant Editor supports the Zuffa edit staff, manages the archive of the Zuffa library, and assists outside production vendors with content needs. Responsibilities include trafficking promos, creating event PR reels, and assisting in studio and field production. This role is based at UFC headquarters and generally works the swing shift.
- Digitize, convert, and organize content for editing.
- Clip highlights post-event and manage content logs.
- Compile footage for vendors for live broadcasts and promotional content.
- Archive media upon project completion.
- Convert show masters for international distribution.
- Prepare fighter highlights and graphics for upcoming events.
- Assist with promotional assets, show compilations, and sizzles, including editing and exporting.
- Create event graphics such as lower thirds and name slams.
- Edit PR reels and fighter appearance videos.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-2 years experience in marketing or product management.
- Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid editing systems.
- Understanding of video codecs, compression, and 3D modeling (plus).
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Familiarity with tape workflows (plus).
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Attention to detail and discretion.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions.
- Knowledge of UFC history (helpful).
- Flexibility to work swing, graveyard shifts, and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new programs.
