The Walt Disney Studios seeks a Data Analyst to join the Studio Research & Analytics team. The Digital Analytics team is a highly visible department that is charged with finding the best methods to understand consumer thoughts, feelings, and behaviors across digital and social channels. They play an integral part in aiding key business decisions for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Disney+. You will join a dynamic group who love movies and television and are passionate about bringing the consumer voice into studio decision-making every day. You will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting data related to Disney’s digital and social media efforts by providing valuable insights and recommendations to drive informed business decisions. This role will have a deep focus on audience development for Lucasfilm, particularly the Star Wars and Star Wars Kids YouTube channels. This is a highly visible role that requires exceptional analytical capabilities, a deep understanding of digital and social media platforms, and the ability to organize, visualize, and translate complex data into actionable insights. Responsibilities: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide digital business insights for Lucasfilm and other Studio brands, with a focus on YouTube growth opportunities
Be the voice of the consumer and a thought leader for Disney digital marketing teams, with an emphasis on Lucasfilm groups. Effectively communicate both quantitative and qualitative findings with timely, relevant, and actionable insights to support short-term and long-term decision-making
Translate business questions into data-informed insights by proactively exploring analytics resources and requirements. Leverage digital and social listening tools to track, trend, and understand consumer behaviors, expressed preferences, and responses to marketing efforts
Provide recommendations to grow Disney’s suite of YouTube channels and content that are supported by a robust analytic framework
Produce reporting deliverables for executive leaders spanning the full suite of The Walt Disney Studios brands, including YouTube channel growth reporting on a monthly basis and full digital insights on a quarterly basis
Present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including executive levels in the company
Qualifications: At least 2 years of experience in data analytics with a focus on social media, digital marketing, and/or consumer data
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Psychology, or a related field or equivalent experience
Proficiency with YouTube analytics
Proficiency with analytics provided by TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and X
Passion for historical and current Star Wars storytelling across all forms of media, including film, television, comics, and games
Proficiency with social analytics and listening tools, e.g. Sprinklr, Quid
Familiarity with website analytics tools, e.g. Adobe Analytics
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Drive (Sheets, Slides) systems
Outstanding communication and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to make clear and concise visual presentations
Ability to interpret data and combine with other data sources to develop a rich, complete picture for the business
Exceptional analytical thinking and mathematical skills
Strong understanding of design best practices for presentation decks and dashboards
Ability to work rapidly and efficiently in a fast-paced and changing environment
This role requires in-person collaboration from Monday to Thursday and remote work on Friday
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $78,200 - $104,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
