Pay Rate: Remote: Mid-March - mid-May: $5000; On-site dates: $200/day

Job Description:

RWS Global seeks a skilled and experienced Audio Designer to join our production team for the summer season. The Audio Designer will conceptualize, design, and execute all sound elements for our summer productions, ensuring high-quality audio experiences for live performances in a large outdoor venue. This role involves collaboration with directors, musical directors, production teams, and technical staff to create immersive soundscapes that enhance storytelling and audience engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement soundscapes, effects, and reinforcement for all summer productions.
2. Collaborate with directors and production teams to realize each show's artistic vision.
3. Select, edit, and integrate pre-recorded sound effects and music cues as needed.
4. Oversee setup, testing, and calibration of sound systems for optimal audio clarity and balance.
5. Manage and operate digital sound consoles, microphones, speakers, and other audio equipment.
6. Troubleshoot technical issues to maintain seamless audio performance.
7. Supervise and collaborate with A1s and sound crew for live mixing and adjustments.
8. Attend rehearsals and run-throughs to fine-tune sound elements.
9. Ensure safety and industry standards in all sound operations.

Qualifications:

1. Degree in Sound Design, Audio Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.
2. Proven experience as an Audio Designer for live theater, concerts, or large-scale productions.
3. Proficiency in digital audio workstations (Pro Tools, QLab, Logic Pro, etc.) and live sound mixing.
4. Strong knowledge of professional sound equipment, including digital consoles (Yamaha, DiGiCo), wireless microphones, and speaker arrays.
5. Experience working in outdoor venues and adapting to environmental sound challenges.
6. Ability to collaborate effectively under tight schedules.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and high-pressure work ability.
8. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
9. Ability to lift and carry sound equipment and work at heights if needed.
