JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Student Union and Event Services is seeking a full-time Audio Visual Production Supervisor.
Audio Visual and Technology Services, part of Student Union and Event Services, facilitates approximately 6,000 annual reservations utilizing AV equipment across 17 conference rooms, a theater, a multipurpose event space, and two ballrooms. Of these, approximately 600 events require dedicated technical support. The department operates with a team of 18 student technicians who provide technical support and event production services, along with a student administrative assistant who manages scheduling and report tracking. Hours of operation are typically 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. during the semester and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during academic breaks.
Under the direction of the Audio Visual and Technology Services Manager, the Audio Visual Production Supervisor provides professional AV support for key institutional events, oversees technical operations for event production, trains and develops student technical staff, and maintains AV systems and services. This position plays a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering high standards of technical support and maintaining the universitys reputation for professional, reliable services. Success will be measured by event outcomes, reduced disruptions, and improved student staff competency.
The role also includes developing and implementing structured training programs to accelerate student learning and reduce performance gaps.
The Audio Visual Production Supervisor will be hired at either the Audio Visual Specialist [P3] classification or the Audio Visual Technician 1 [P4] classification, depending on the incumbent's experience, skills, abilities, and training as determined by the University.
