The teacher is essential in managing classrooms so that students can thrive academically, socially, emotionally and behaviorally. Achieving academic excellence requires the teacher to provide rigorous and engaging lessons that meet grade level standards, differentiate to meet the needs of a diverse group of students and build a classroom environment where all students feel accepted and challenged.
Essential Functions
- Demonstrate commitment to creating a classroom environment aligned with the mission, vision, and values of KTEC.
- Seek and utilize feedback for personal growth, continuous improvement, and innovation.
- Utilize active listening, assume best intentions, and consider other perspectives.
- Participate actively in the professional learning community.
- Manage classroom activities, prepare lessons, and implement current teaching strategies.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Organize and participate in student activities.
- Design, deliver, and assess inquiry-based, nature-based, and project-based learning, integrating content standards effectively.
- Attend staff meetings, conferences, workshops, and in-service training including DPI professional development.
- Communicate with parents through various methods.
- Assist in student placement procedures and participate in related meetings.
- Contribute to selecting curriculum, equipment, supplies, and other materials.
Other Functions
- Work towards proficiency in Wisconsin’s Educator Effectiveness System domains.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by school administration.
Qualifications
Experience, Education, and Licensure
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
- Current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Teaching License.
- Competencies in classroom management, curriculum development, and program evaluation.
