Position Overview
The Video Asset/Production Assistant provides tactical support to the production team in daily video project activities. This entry-level role assists all team members across all phases of video production, from scheduling to archiving completed videos. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, a team player, and flexible to support various roles as needed.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily video operations on the DAM/MAM cloud system.
- Collect and process hard drives from the Rahway location.
- Ingest media from daily productions.
- Catalogue, store, and archive all finished videos, project files, and raw footage, ensuring organization and metadata tagging meet standards.
- Manage retrieval of finished video assets from freelance resources.
- Organize video files for efficient access.
- Assist the Media Asset Manager with organizing reels, client drives, and production materials.
- Build relationships with client staff for research and information gathering.
- Schedule and post assignments for upcoming productions.
- Communicate project information to editors, producers, crew, and other stakeholders.
- Stay informed about departmental and client projects, branding, and programming.
- Serve as a backup to Producers and Associate Producers as needed.
- Perform studio crew roles such as cameraman, teleprompter operator, or floor manager as required.
- Create a positive, professional work environment for clients and staff.
- Assist with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking effectively.
- Basic knowledge of DAM/MAM storage systems.
- Understanding of field and studio production, capable of delivering clear instructions in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of digital video production, equipment, and processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage time and resources accurately.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet research.
- Additional skills such as camera operation, teleprompter use, or editing systems are desirable.
- Customer service orientation with professional presence and client relationship skills.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Video/Film Production or related field required.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in corporate or television production industry.
