Job Summary
Bechtel is seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Lead to drive content strategy and execution across its social channels. The ideal candidate will have experience in both paid and organic social media, crafting compelling content, and leveraging social platforms to enhance brand visibility and engagement. The role requires strong judgment, copywriting skills, and the ability to use data analytics for measuring success.
Major Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Bechtel’s social media strategy—organic and paid—aligned with overall communication goals.
- Create engaging social posts, visuals, and campaigns that reflect Bechtel’s values and achievements.
- Manage social campaigns from planning to reporting, including paid and organic efforts.
- Collaborate across teams to highlight project milestones and thought leadership.
- Monitor and analyze social media metrics to optimize performance.
- Oversee social media monitoring and channel inboxes, engaging with followers.
- Stay updated on social media trends and emerging platforms.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice across all content.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Public Relations or related field with 8-10 years of experience, or 12-14 years of relevant professional experience without a degree.
- Legal right to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Proficiency in social media tools such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, Threads, BlueSky, Meltwater, Canva.
- Excellent communication, copywriting, and proofreading skills.
- Experience managing paid social campaigns, audience targeting, and budget management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong project management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with executive leadership and under tight deadlines.
Work Conditions
This is a part-time telework position requiring at least three days per week in-person attendance at the designated office or project site in Reston, VA, with schedules determined collaboratively.
