NBCUniversal’s KXAS is seeking a highly motivated and driven News Reporter to join its team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In this role, you will gather, investigate, and report breaking news, delivering compelling content across multiple platforms, including on-air, online, and streaming. The ideal candidate will have a passion for investigative journalism and experience covering law enforcement, with a proven ability to build strong sources within the community. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a breaking news environment, excels under tight deadlines, and consistently pitches unique and impactful enterprise stories. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of television reporting experience Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience Proven track record of live reporting and strong storytelling skillset Experience building deep sources in community The ability to collaborate across broader newsroom Excellent writing skillset Excellent communication and time management skills Experience contributing to non-linear platforms Must be able to handle intense deadline pressure Must be able to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, particularly breaking news Desired Characteristics Bilingual in English & Spanish reading, speaking, and writing Ability to enterprise stories Experience with digital editing and photography a plus Experience working simultaneously on web products Strong knowledge of social networking in relygard to content gathering and distribution Eligibility Requirements Must be willing to work in Fort Worth, TX, just south of DFW airport Must submit a video/reel/demo of work to be considered Must have a valid driver’s license Must be 18 years or greater Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States Must be able to work long hours and a variety of shifts, when necessary Must accept Solutions as NBCUniversal’s Alternative Dispute Resolution program Additional Information As part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
