Position Summary:
We are seeking a CAD Technician/Designer with a focus on structural design to create detailed drawings and plans for railway structural projects. The ideal candidate will have between 2 and 5 years of CAD design experience in the civil engineering or architecture sector. This position involves creating detailed, visually appealing structural plans, collaborating with project teams in Mexico and the United States, using rail industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed plans in CAD for railway structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, among others.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to capture project requirements and design specifications in construction drawings.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including reports, presentations and technical specifications.
- Review drawings based on comments from engineers.
- Maintain organized records of design documents and project files.
- Use CAD software (such as AutoCAD or MicroStation).
- Quantification of volumes of work in plans.
- Development of concept catalogs.
- Check your own work and review other team members' plans.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in CAD design, with a focus on structural projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D).
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in design work with a high standard of Quality.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual in English-Spanish: Advanced Level read and write. Intermediate level spoken.
- Desire to learn and gain knowledge in the area of railroad design
- Experience with drafting software MicroStation.
- Candidate who has experience in rail design and is familiar with industry standards and regulations specific to railway structures.
- Bilingual in English-Spanish: Advanced or Superior Level.
