We’re seeking a UX Researcher to join our team and help improve our in-store inventory processes by deeply understanding the experiences of our store employees, customers, and operational workflows. This role will focus on in-store observational research, stakeholder interviews, and usability testing to identify pain points and opportunities for innovation in how we manage and track inventory on the floor.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct ethnographic research and observational studies in grocery store locations to understand current inventory workflows.
- Collaborate with store associates, inventory managers, and other stakeholders to gather insights into challenges and opportunities.
- Synthesize research findings into actionable recommendations for improving tools, systems, and processes.
- Partner closely with UX designers, product managers, and operations teams to support the design and implementation of improved inventory systems.
- Create and present detailed research reports, journey maps, personas, and insight summaries to cross-functional teams.
- Support iterative testing of new inventory tools, ensuring they are intuitive and effective in real-world store environments.
- Advocate for a human-centered approach in all stages of product development and process improvement.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in UX research, human-centered design, or service design (experience in a retail or operations setting is a plus).
- Strong qualitative research skills, particularly in ethnographic and contextual inquiry methods.
- Experience conducting research in dynamic environments (e.g., retail, warehouses, field work).
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills with an ability to translate complex research into clear insights.
- Familiarity with inventory systems, supply chain workflows, or retail operations is a strong plus.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology, Design, or related field.
