The PACS Administrator plays a vital role in the daily operations of CHA’s Imaging IT environment. This role is responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of PACS, RIS, Voice Recognition (VR) systems, and related technologies, in addition to acting as a liaison between our IT team and external vendors. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced imaging or healthcare setting and demonstrate strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations and technical support for PACS, RIS, VR, and other imaging IT systems
- Act as liaison between Radiology, Information Technology, system vendors, and other departments
- Provide end-user support and training, including onboarding new staff and super users
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and privacy standards (HIPAA, JCAHO, DPH, OSHA)
- Manage system security, user access, and permissions
- Monitor system performance, perform audits, and proactively identify issues
- Provide technical support for radiology equipment integrations and image distribution workflows, including teleradiology
- Participate in equipment selection, implementation, and system upgrades in collaboration with IT and vendors
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, resolve system errors, and manage support tickets
- Assist with data reporting, quality improvement initiatives, and performance metrics tracking
- Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 system coverage
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- ABII Certification (American Board of Imaging Informatics) required within one year of hire
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Imaging Informatics, Voice Recognition systems, or Imaging Technology
- Prior experience in a hospital or imaging department setting strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to independently analyze and resolve technical issues in a clinical environment
- Willingness to travel to various CHA locations as needed
