Title: Social Media Coordinator
Department: Advertising (Display and Classified)
Reports to: Direct Sold Team Lead
General Summary of Position: The Social Media Coordinator (SMC) is responsible for creating engaging, trend-aware content, with a strong emphasis on video, to support client social media strategies across various platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. This role involves coordinating the implementation of social media campaigns for outside sales representatives, ensuring a smooth transition from sale to execution, and managing day-to-day social media activities. The SMC assists in onboarding new customers, monitors campaign performance against client goals, flags issues, and proactively recommends strategic adjustments, particularly focusing on creative content performance. This position also supports the setup of other digital display campaigns as needed.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
A: Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute day-to-day social media content strategies, including planning, shooting, editing, and publishing engaging posts, with a significant focus on short-form video (TikToks, Reels, Stories).
- Manage all published content (video, images, written copy), ensuring brand consistency and platform optimization.
- Write compelling, creative, and platform-appropriate copy and scripts for social media posts, stories, and videos (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok), adapting language, tone, and message for target audiences.
- Develop and implement effective hashtag strategies to maximize reach and engagement.
- Organize and plan monthly content calendars for clients, incorporating timely trends and campaign goals.
- Lead content creation efforts for Instagram Stories, TikTok, and Reels; assist with blog content as needed.
- Monitor social media trends, platform updates, and competitor activities to inform content strategy.
- Track, analyze, and report on social media performance using analytics tools, providing insights and recommendations for optimization daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Schedule social posts using relevant tools.
C: Other Duties
- Assist with setup and monitoring of other digital media campaigns.
- Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.
Skill Requirements:
- Deep understanding of and passion for the social media landscape, especially video-centric platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
- Proven experience creating engaging social media content, with a portfolio demonstrating strong video creation and editing skills.
- Proficiency in video editing software and mobile apps (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, InShot, or similar).
- Strong visual storytelling ability and a keen eye for aesthetics and current social media trends.
- Excellent copywriting and communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to adapt tone and style for different platforms and audiences.
- Highly creative with a strategic mindset to achieve client goals.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Resourceful, proactive, and takes initiative.
- Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator) is a plus.
- Hands-on experience managing business accounts on key social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok required).
- Knowledge of social media analytics tools and SEO principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal teams and external clients.
- Excellent time management skills.
