We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior User Experience Designer to join our dynamic AI and ML Design team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the creation of innovative GenAI-powered experiences tailored for Capital One associates and customers. Collaborating with fellow designers, product managers, and technology specialists from various business units, you will develop outstanding GenAI-driven products and establish best practices for experience design in this evolving field.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with technology, product, and business teams to identify customer and business needs for GenAI experiences, transforming them into intuitive and engaging designs.
- Simplify complex concepts into clear ideas that enhance product usability.
- Engage in prioritization discussions to shape the team's strategic roadmap.
- Adapt to changing priorities to maintain focus on product definition and prioritization.
- Serve as the voice of the customer, utilizing human-centered design techniques, including discovery sessions, research, and user testing.
- Promote data-driven design improvements based on customer insights and analyses.
- Collaborate across geographical locations to achieve project goals.
- Adopt and advocate for an experience-centric mindset in all projects.
Creation & Delivery:
- Develop and promote best practices, principles, and standards for designing GenAI experiences that can be utilized throughout Capital One's design teams.
- Leverage your skills in creating GenAI solutions and utilizing design tools to foster successful teamwork.
- Collaborate with partners to facilitate essential discovery sessions that unveil customer challenges and opportunities.
- Lead the design process, including:
- Partnering with researchers to assess customer needs and identify opportunities through usability and empathy studies.
- Identifying problems, extracting insights, and developing new strategies to address customer requirements.
- Creating process flows, wireframes, journey maps, and interactive models, producing both low and high-fidelity prototypes.
- Organizing and moderating workshops with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Contributing to and refining our internal design system through existing standards and innovative practices.
- Utilizing storytelling to present visual ideas to a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Producing detailed design assets for development and market release in collaboration with technology teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in User Experience design.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing GenAI-powered experiences.
- Experience in designing and implementing chat functionalities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in creating design principles and best practices.
- Ability to evaluate GenAI experiences effectively.
- Familiarity with responsible AI practices.
- Experience designing across multiple channels.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with various business partners.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch and Figma.
- Experience working within an established design system.
- Track record of successfully managing cross-functional teams.
