Job DescriptionThe Client Experience and Learning Team is focused on cultivating a culture that encourages growth, development, and engagement. We aim to provide our clients with exceptional service by minimizing their effort through swift, seamless, and effective service models and resolutions. We prioritize team member education and development, ensuring high performing team members in service of our clients.
The Client Care Sr. Instructional Designer will play a key role in delivering our Client Care's training needs. This role ensures that all team members, especially in Client Care, acquire the skills and expertise necessary to exceed client expectations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing engaging and effective learning experiences and will be responsible for leading the development of training programs that meet the needs of our organization.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office three set days a week (determined by leadership/site).
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct needs assessments and analyze performance gaps to determine training requirements.
Work with facilitators and subject matter experts (SMEs) across Client Care to gather content, build effective and efficient learning solutions, and ensure accuracy and relevance.
Partner with Client Care Learning Operations and Visa University (VU) to ensure alignment with key priorities and roadmaps.
Lead the design and development of instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, and blended learning solutions to meet business objectives and drive impact.
Develop evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Lead user acceptance testing, quality control checks, conduct focus groups and interviews, analyze feedback, and implement prioritized changes.
Collaborate with Visa University and vendor-supplied instructional design / LX design teams on large-scale programs.
Partner with project management, knowledge management, delivery, business enablement teams, and other project members to ensure learning solutions are implemented seamlessly, on time, and within budget.
Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in instructional design and learning technologies, as well as following learning design standards, templates and guidelines established by VU.
Provide guidance and mentorship to facilitators and other team members who are asked to support design/development activities.
Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions and provide support to trainers and facilitators.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications
- 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field and/or six (6) or more years of experience in instructional design.
- Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and LMS platforms.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with multimedia design and development (e.g., video production, graphic design) is a plus.
- Certification in instructional design or related field (e.g., CPTD, ATD).
- Experience in a corporate training environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 90,700.00 to 131,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
