About Us:
Genesis Children's Theatre is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to creating extraordinary theater experiences while fostering mentorship, life skills, and artistic growth in young people. Since 2009, we have cultivated a strong community with an average student retention of 90.7%, serving children from elementary to high school with diverse interests and skill levels in Theatre Arts.
Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate and skilled Directors, Choreographers, and Musical Directors to join our pool of creative leaders. More than just instructors, we need mentors who prioritize the process over the product, value a diverse group of students, and can cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Artistic Leadership: Guide students in developing their performance skills while fostering confidence and creativity.
- Mentorship: Serve as a role model, encouraging students to grow personally and artistically.
- Classroom & Time Management: Create structured, engaging rehearsals that respect students' time and commitment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, parents, and students to ensure a smooth and enriching theatrical process.
- Process-Focused Approach: Prioritize student learning, ensemble-building, and growth rather than just the final performance.
Qualifications:
- Experience in directing, choreography, or musical direction (preferably in children's or youth theater).
- Strong ability to mentor and engage with students of all skill levels and backgrounds.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Passion for theater education and youth development.
