Duties
The
Communications Coordinator
provides administrative and operational support to the Department of Communications at the Law Center. They serve as an assistant to the Associate Vice President for Communications and support all other Communications Office personnel in their duties, including press outreach and monitoring, social media, website content development, graphic design, and photography. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
Organize all department meetings, keeping meeting agendas and tracking projects. Handle all budgeting, contracting, and administrative work for the communications department, fielding and routing inquiries to the office. Develop and expand their expertise in specific areas of communications based on their interests and skills, such as media relations, photo and video production, social media strategy, or reporting and writing by collaborating with team members on diverse projects and initiatives.
Work Interactions
This position reports directly to the Associate Vice President and supports and interacts with all members of the Law Center’s Communications team. This role also serves as the primary liaison with Financial Affairs, facilities, and other departments at the Law Center and Hilltop campus.
Requirements And Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree One to two years communications experience Experience in the budget planning process Highly organized with strong writing and proofreading skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects on tight deadlines Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and work collaboratively with various stakeholders in the office and across the Law Center A strong interest in communications, law, and a good working knowledge of and interest in social media platforms Experience with Cision media database, Photoshop, InDesign software program, MailChimp, Google Workspace, and WordPress content management system preferable Experience in photography is preferred.

Pay Range
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$19.20 - $28.70
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
