The Quincy Institute (QI) is seeking a motivated and proactive reporter for its online magazine, Responsible Statecraft.
RS is a daily news outlet focusing on breaking news, Washington politics, U.S. military and defense, and global geopolitics, featuring both staff and outside contributors.
Responsibilities
- Follow the daily and weekly news cycle, monitoring issues relevant to foreign policy.
- Assist with editorial work and produce original reporting content for RS.
- Manage and promote engagement on RS’s social media platforms.
- Demonstrate interest and some expertise in realism and restraint foreign policy issues, and thrive in a dynamic, ambitious environment.
Essential Qualifications
- Background knowledge and interest in U.S. foreign policy issues.
- Familiarity with current policy debates and restraint literature.
- Strong writing, reporting, and research skills, with basic familiarity with AP style.
- Experience in journalism, including writing for platforms or student publications.
- Editing experience.
- Fluency in social media engagement (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Ability to work under tight deadlines with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
