SUMMARY OF POSITION:The Summer IEP Writer will have primary duties in support of special needs students, to include, but not limited to, the review of student records, re-evaluations, completion of IEP's and related paperwork, and conduct IEP meetings for special needs students in grades 6-12.
The Summer IEP Writer will work closely with the Director of Student Services, Special Education Supervisor, Special Education Department Head and special education support staff to schedule/conduct IEP meetings and complete all related paperwork. LEA's would attend the IEP meetings to assist in the facilitation as appropriate. The incumbent in this position would not be responsible for monitoring the student's progress.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Write and Facilitate Individual Education Program (IEP) for studentsComplete students' IEPs in IEP Writer.Lead IEP MeetingResponsible for Progress MonitoringMain point of contact for staff regarding the studentParticipate in Parent/Teacher conferencesMeet with students in the Virtual OfficeEnsure IEPs are developmentally appropriate, curriculum/standards based and relevant to the individual student's individual needs.Monitor the IEP implementation.Ensure all timelines are met.Communicate accommodations, modifications, grading guidelines, and/or behavioral plans to all involved with the student.Maintain accurate records and information in the Student Management System, following established procedures.Collaborate effectively with department and cohort peers to ensure academic goals are appropriate and instructional strategies are effective to reach identified student outcomes.Develop Positive Behavior Support Plans based on incoming PBSP and/or data from a Functional Behavior Support Plan.Attend scheduled IEP meetings, IEP at a glance meetings as appropriate.Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

A. Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's Degree from Accredited University or College
2. Masters degree in Education Preferred
3. Experience writing IEPs
B. Professional or Other Required Certifications
1. PA Instructional I or II Certification(s) in Special Education:
- Special Education N-12, Mental and/or Physically Handicapped K-12
- Special Education PreK-8 (+ valid Grades 4-8, Elementary K-6, Reading Specialist PreK-12 or content specific PreK-12)
- Special Education 7-12 (+ valid secondary 7-12 PA subject area certificate, Reading Specialist PreK-12 or other content specific PreK-12)
2. Act 34, 151, and 114 Clearances
Schedule :June 10, 2024- August 16, 2024Monday-Thursday 7:30am-3:30pm(The hours in this position are flexible with a maximum of 3 hours a day)Telework - Yes
