Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Core Content Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a positive and engaging learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students. The Core Content Teacher will be responsible for delivering effective instruction, monitoring student progress, and working collaboratively with other educators and staff members to ensure each student reaches their full potential.

What are my roles and responsibilities?

Teaching and Learning
Internalize, adapt and implement lesson plans based on curriculum standards and students' needs.
Deliver engaging and rigorous content and instruction to students that enables all students to grow and succeed.
Collaborate with content and grade-level teams to adapt plans based on student academic and culture data
Work closely with Learning Support Specialists to differentiate standards-aligned curriculum to meet student needs, especially for Exceptional Learners and English Language Learners
Participate in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) when applicable.
Engage in weekly, data-based coaching and planning cycles with teammates.
Provide timely feedback to students on their work and progress, offering additional support when needed.
Maintain accurate and timely attendance and gradebook records for students
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding students’ academic progress and behavioral concerns.
Participate in schoolwide and personal professional development.

Actively build trusting relationships and partnerships with families through consistent communication. (i.e. participation in community events and proactive communication)
Build strong relationships with students and staff where we can learn and grow together.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters respect, collaboration, and student engagement.
Lead a daily advisory group (Pride) that creates a trusting environment where students can give one another support as well as challenge one another when necessary.
Other Duties:
Assist with additional duties such as lunch, recess, study hall or arrival/ dismissal duty coverage
Participate in community events throughout the school year.
Perform other duties as assigned, including reasonable physical demands expected from the working environment of a school.
Including but not limited to substitute teaching coverage.
Qualifications
Minimum of two years of teaching experience
Valid Missouri Teacher Certification
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Conversational or better knowledge of a world language is preferred but not required, especially Arabic, Burmese, French, Karen, Kinyarwanda, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, or Vietnamese.
