Overview
The Content Specialist will be responsible for writing, editing, and optimizing articles, blog posts, and other marketing materials for one of the Mazzella Companies’ websites - with a strong emphasis on growing and enhancing the overall digital presence and branding. The Content Specialist will be responsible for increasing brand awareness through the creation of direct and indirect sales tools and miscellaneous marketing materials. The Content Specialist will drive and develop targeted content on a Mazzella Companies’ website that is both engaging and educational. The Content Specialist will support the development of corporate communications (both internal and external), written collateral (data sheets, e-books, brochures, white papers, case studies), video, social media, and website content.
Content Specialist Job Duties:
Write, edit, proofread, and optimize inbound marketing content - developed independently through research or other internal and external channels
Collaborate with product, sales, and service teams (subject matter experts) to develop SEO content that positions ourselves as an industry thought leader
Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects with a sense of urgency
Collaboratively work with an internal team of designers, web developers, and videographers
Effectively navigate a complex organizational structure
Promote a line of complex/technical products, machinery, and services to meet deliverable deadlines
Identify, develop, and execute sales and marketing initiatives, including product launches, sales collateral, promotions, website updates, public relations, and internal communications
Utilize a variety of tools to generate metrics and analyze the performance of existing content
Identify opportunities to optimize or enhance content based on current marketing/industry trends
Develop social media content that drives prospect engagement
Other duties as assigned
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism preferred. In the absence of a degree, directly-related job experience serving in a public relations, freelance, or journalism role. Years of experience, and proven knowledge, may offset the degree requirement.
Experience:
2-3 years in a marketing, communications, journalism, or freelance role.
Required Skills:
Proven technical writing, editing, proofreading, webpage layout and design, and publishing skills
Ability to interview and extract information from subject matter experts
Strong experience in capturing, translating, and developing creative/technical content for target audiences
Hands-on experience with SEO and web traffic metrics
Ability to work independently and solve problems creatively
Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and able to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Basic proficiency with HTML and an understanding of web writing best practices
Knowledge and understanding of digital and social media platforms
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of HubSpot or other marketing/e-mail automation platforms.
Knowledge of WordPress or other web content management systems (CMS).
Working knowledge of digital photography and Adobe Creative Cloud.
