Duties will be inclusive, but not limited to:Write articles and content for website, social media and other communication channels.Help execute the Office of Marketing and Communications’ strategy and goals on social media by creating captivating and timely content, designing unique graphics and shooting/editing video.Use social media calendar to schedule content on a daily basis.Research social media trends and apply learnings; use trends for content creation opportunities.Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and for monthly reports.Assist in various research projects, including creating and maintaining contacts for stakeholder lists.Participate in meetings to brainstorm content ideas, discuss projects, and provide feedback on communications and marketing strategies.Support communications and marketing team at in-person events.Assist with photography and some videography needs.Other projects to be assigned on an as needed basis.Minimum Qualifications:Education:Must be an undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled at the University of Maryland College Park.Experience:Previous experience working with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter & other social media platforms.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong interest in storytelling across many platforms.Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and creative skills.Able to work in a collaborative and inclusive team environment, as well as independently.Able to take directions and execute assigned tasks with accuracy.Dependable, good follow through & great organizational skills.Familiarity with Google products.Available to work up to 20 hours per week.Preferences:Photography and video/editing skills a plus.To apply, please submit the following materials:A cover letter that describes your experience and why you are interested in the position.A resume.Any relevant samples of your work.Posting Date:
