Job Summary The MCIC Media Assistant provides support for MCIC media assets, including video production and editing, marketing of events, and creating visual designs. They will also assist with Zoom support, website updates, and editing online content. Additionally, they will meet weekly with the MCIC team and attend University events that support the division while promoting JEDI values, contemplative practice, sustainability, resilience, regenerative practices, and Restorative Community. The Media Assistant will be able to apply creative and artistic voice throughout their work while working collaboratively with the entire MCIC team including both full-time year-round Staff and part-time Work Study staff.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide assistance and support with MCIC media assets including online and print communications, video production and editing, and marketing of MCIC events.• Create visuals designs that incorporate branding for posters, handbills, and digital copy to market MCIC events and programs in print and digital formats.• Video editing and archiving of recorded MCIC events; including closed captions, transitions, and titles.• Provide Zoom support in setting up meetings, hosting events, recording, and reproducing MCIC events for online and hybrid ecosystems.• Feel confident with digital storytelling that exemplifies and promotes the Naropa Compass, our guiding statements which include the Naropa Vision, Mission, Purpose, Values, and Practices.• Basic knowledge of social media marketing, graphic design, and video hosting. (we use Canvas, YouTube, and other digital platforms).• Assists with website updates and edits to the MCIC myNaropa/Sharepoint site. May consult with the Director on .edu web edits that are controlled by Marketing.• May be asked to write, edit, produce, and screen written online content.• Meet weekly with the MCIC team of student employees, known as the Work Study Collective, to contribute as needed to a sense of community and belonging held by JEDI values, contemplative practice, sustainability, resilience, regenerative practices, and restorative community.• Attend and engage in MCIC and other University events that support the division.• Other duties as assigned.

• Student must be awarded Federal Work Study hours by the Financial Aid office in order to fill this position.

Experience as well as confidence with various forms of technology, media, and design are required to be successful in this role.

Employees who work fewer than 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in Naropa's retirement plan only, which includes up to 2.5% employer matching.
All regular full-time and part-time faculty and staff, including student workers, accrue sick leave benefits. Full-time and part-time staff positions accrue vacation and personal time. All leave accrual rates vary based on the position, hours worked, and years of service.
