The Game Producer oversees all aspects of content within SportsNet Pittsburgh’s, Penguins game telecasts. The Game Producer guides the editorial aspects of the broadcast including storylines, replays, graphics, specialty integrations and sponsored elements. Supervising, collaborating with and coaching on-air talent is a vital responsibility. In concert with the Game Director, the Game Producer leads the entire crew to create an energetic, compelling telecast that entertains fans, represents the Penguins and SNP with class and drives revenue for the network. The Game Producer also works closely with our Studio Production department to support high-quality pregame, postgame and intermission coverage. The Game Producer cooperates with internal departments across SNP, NESN and the Penguins to further the company goals and objectives of all three entities. While Penguins Hockey is the primary focus of this role, the Game Producer will also produce additional live programming during the NHL offseason, notably Pirates Baseball game telecasts and/or studio shows.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Produce all SNP Penguins telecasts either on-site (home) or remotely (road.)
• Oversee storyline ideation and all aspects of production planning and execution.
• Produce, as assigned, other SNP live event broadcasts or studio shows on a fill-in basis, particularly but not limited to Pirates Baseball and/or Pirates studio coverage.
• Provide feedback and coaching to on-air talent and game production personnel.
• Work nights, weekends and holidays and travel as the production schedule requires.

Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of the Pittsburgh Penguins, the NHL and team and league history.
• Knowledge of the Pittsburgh Pirates, MLB and team and league history.
• Deep understanding of live sports production technology and its utility across a wide variety of situations and platforms.
• Storytelling creativity as relates to live sports coverage across platforms.
• Ability to function calmly and effectively in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Strong supervisory, leadership and collaboration skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
