As a leader within the Technology and Product Management Team, you will join a tightly knit and high performing group of industry veterans shepherding complex and highly integrated products to market.
As a Product Manager for Digital Workplace here at Crestron, you will assist with driving the development of our touch screen and user interface hardware products and accessories, related firmware and software applications, as well as partner integrations. This individual will focus on strategic initiatives that span the entire Crestron solutions ecosystem including residential smart home applications, hospitality solutions, enterprise and government projects, as well as education focused market opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include strategic roadmap development, product planning, writing and implementing product requirements, championing the product through the development life cycle, and will continue through supporting sales and marketing efforts during the new product rollout. You will also perform competitive analysis, as well as research and recommend new technologies. The Product Manager is ultimately responsible for the overall success of the product portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Define, promote, and constantly evolve a market leading product strategy
- Use industry knowledge in conjunction with competitive research to craft tomorrow's product roadmap
- Keep abreast of the technology landscape and trends to drive product innovation
- Develop and lead strategic initiatives that span the entire Digital Workplace and user interfaces technology portfolio including competitive analysis, proof-of-concepts, early-access programs, research/feasibility studies, and solutions development.
- Present and promote the product portfolio of software, hardware, and integrated solutions virtually or in-person to colleagues, customers, and technology partners
- Participate in industry tradeshows and other key market events.
- Provide insight and expertise to groom the backlog and help define epics and user stories for agile software development.
- As required, assist with prioritizing technical issues, identifying potential solutions and mitigations, and assist with managing the impact to customers and the business
- Work with production and quality engineering to deliver industry leading product quality
- Work with cross-functional departments such as marketing, training, support, production, sales, etc. to ensure the product is a success.
- Serve as product solutions expert
- Deliver products that exceed the expectations of all stakeholders in the value chain.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong business acumen with a results-driven and competitive mindset.
- Ability to lead team meetings, set expectations, and hold people accountable for delivering the expected product
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze market trends and customer feedback.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Android OS, APK development, and device APIs.
- Broad understanding of Ethernet networking technologies and protocols as they pertain to residential and commercial AV systems integration.
- Familiarity with streaming media technologies and tools (VLC, EXO Player, H.264/265, AES67, Dante, NDI)
- Proficiency with, and knowledge of, unified communications solutions from major providers such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Cisco WebEx, etc.
- Proficiency with, and knowledge of, enterprise technologies including wireless collaboration and presentation, digital signage, and related software, management tools, and services.
- Experience in HTML5 and other UI/UX tools
Project Management:
- Experience in managing complex projects from ideation through launch.
- Familiarity with agile development processes and tools.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, and customer support.
- Demonstrates visible company spirit and an ability to quickly gain the trust of key stakeholders, end-users, and co-workers alike.
- Capacity to constantly learn new software and hardware technologies and an ability to quickly put that learning into practice in support of highly visible real-world projects. Be able to research and become an expert on new technologies relevant to the product line.
- Ability to be hands-on and travel occasionally to job sites to see how our products are getting installed/applied and be able to translate that experience into a better product
Experience & Education:
- 5+ years experience in a technical role (product engineering, product management, support, etc.) in the AV or commercial broadcast industry
- MBA and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or Engineering preferred but not required
- Certification in Agile Development (Scaled Agile, CSM, etc.) is preferred but not required.
