The Jewelry Designer will be a core member of the design team, contributing to both custom and seasonal product development with a primary focus on high-end bridal and fine jewelry. This role requires deep expertise in diamonds and precious gemstones, a refined design sensibility, and the ability to translate creative vision into refined product that aligns with brand identity and design integrity. The Jewelry Designer will collaborate directly with the brand owner, who sets the creative vision, and work cross-functionally with the product and sourcing teams to bring each design to life with precision and excellence. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment and combine creativity with strong operational and project management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Bridal & High Jewelry Design
- Design engagement rings and bridal jewelry featuring high-value diamonds and precious gemstones.
- Translate creative direction from the brand owner into refined product concepts.
- Ensure all bridal designs meet high craftsmanship standards and align with customer expectations.
Product Launch Design
- Contribute to seasonal and core product collections across fine jewelry categories.
- Collaborate with the SVP of Design & Product to align each launch with brand identity and commercial strategy.
Custom Projects
- Support custom design development with technical drawings, stone layouts, and customer-facing renderings.
- Partner with sales, production, and sourcing teams to execute one-of-a-kind projects from concept through delivery.
CAD & Technical Review
- Review 3D CAD files, especially in Rhinoceros format, and provide feedback for construction and aesthetics.
- Ensure design feasibility in collaboration with product engineers and external vendors.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between design, sourcing, and production teams to ensure technical accuracy and manufacturability.
- Participate in material selection, technical spec definition, and sampling processes.
Team Operation & Project Management
- Track progress of multiple design projects, ensuring adherence to development timelines.
- Organize files, specs, and creative documents to maintain an efficient design workflow.
- Design sample inventory management & tracking
- Outside partners/freelancers managing as needed.
Key Talent Qualities
- Creative vision: a strong fine jewelry aesthetic and passion for luxury craftsmanship
- Gemstone expertise: deep knowledge of diamonds and precious gemstones
- Experience in bridal strongly preferred- with diamond knowledge
- 5+ years of jewelry design experience ideally in a fine jewelry environment
- Detail-oriented: ability to manage and review intricate designs and CAD files
- Operational mindset: skilled at managing timelines, specifications, and cross-functional workflows
- Collaborator: experienced in partnering with creative leadership and technical teams
- Communicator: skilled in vendor communication, especially in providing direction and comments to execute samples in most effective way.
- Tech proficient: familiarity with Rhinoceros (CAD review), Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office
- Custom experience: experience designing bespoke engagement rings or fine jewelry is a plus
