Whether you are seeking new challenges, greater variety, or a better opportunity, we are on the lookout for professionals who enjoy being part of something bigger.Position Overview:The primary focus of this role will be to operate as an extension of the Vice President of Design and Planning by managing and guiding aspects of Design, Planning and Landscape Architecture for the firm. The position focuses on maintaining and cultivating the firm's: design approach and strategy, project workflow, project execution including leading/demonstrating creative and technical expertise. The Director of Design serves as a mentor and fosters a culture that encourages employee growth and engagement.Position Description:Provides input into and drives implementation of strategic departmental decisions and related organizational goals.Represents the organization as a leader to employees, clients, and communities.Oversees a portfolio of projects including schedule adherence and work quality.Recruits, selects, leads, guides, directs, and evaluates the work of teams including Landscape Architects, Graphic Designers and Planners.Serves as a key client contact ensuring high work quality and service levels, managing client expectations, providing expert consultation, and resolving disputes.Identifies critical issues, facilitates, and implements solutions to ensure project and organizational success.Oversees project financials and monitors project profitability.Negotiates and executes profitable and equitable contracts by establishing clear and concise terms while managing risks and contingencies.Leads business development and marketing strategies aimed at increasing client base, diversifying product offerings, maximizing project opportunities and cultivating relationships.Oversees proposal preparation and project estimation.Determines and communicates strategy and conceptual design for specific projects integrating the most current technologies, philosophies and approaches to project design and implementation.Manages, monitors, and reports on workload, staff capacities and scheduling for the firm's Design, Planning and Landscape Architecture projects.Participates in groups and organizations to contribute expertise, promote, and develop strategies to further firm and industry goals.Mentors employees to develop and deepen technical, problem solving and leadership skillsets.Reviews invoices, sub-consultant payables, fee, and scope documents.Advises Leadership on operational issues and opportunities.Evaluates staff performance and collaborates with Leadership on key performance decisions.Operates similarly and as an adjunct of the Vice President of Design and PlanningMay organize and transport materials which may include samples, supplies and survey equipment.Travels as required to client, consultant, marketing, agency, and work locations, as needed.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, related field or equivalent relevant work experience in related field is required.Landscape Architect Registration (State of Florida).10 or more years of experience leading land and/or landscape planning and design projects.2 or more years of experience managing client relationships and project procurement.2 or more years of supervisory or leadership experience.PRIME AE Group is committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.
