Design Consultants collaborate with customers to plan and design their spaces. By delivering elevated designs and embodying the CB2 Experience (Be Positive. Inspiring. Finding a way), they help maximize sales growth and profitability. Their expertise, teamwork, passion for design, use of design tools, and creative selling skills ensure an exceptional customer experience.
A day in the life as a Design Consultant...
- Drive sales and provide a differentiated experience through enriching customer interactions and offering elevated design solutions both in-store and virtually.
- Create elevated CB2 designs for customers using preferred design tools to develop mood boards, 2D floor plans, product lists, and style inspiration.
- Lead one-on-one design consultations in person, via email, phone, or virtual platforms. Complete projects within designated timelines.
- Maintain a clear understanding of the CB2 brand aesthetics and merchandising strategy across channels—Store, Online, Catalog.
- Achieve individual sales, KPI, and service goals, and engage customers on the sales floor by demonstrating our four steps of selling, as communicated by the store manager.
- Stay informed about marketplace and industry trends.
- Actively listen to customers to identify products that best meet their needs and communicate loyalty services such as designer rewards, the Design Trade Program, CB2 credit card, and gift registry.
- Support and model excellent service by exhibiting a positive attitude and enthusiasm both in-store and virtually, ensuring all customers receive gracious, quick, and efficient service.
What you’ll bring to the table...
- Understanding of basic design functions including spatial planning, fabric selection, lighting, and interior design styles.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively translate the CB2 brand vision and customer needs.
- Strong affinity for technology (2D and 3D tools, Google Suite, video conferencing) and proficiency in floor planning.
- Ability to stay current with design trends.
We'd love to hear from you if you have...
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in furniture sales, home decor design, or retail/customer service.
- Full-time roles require open availability to work flexible hours on weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
- Part-time roles require availability for two or more weekend days (Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday) and at least one weekday or evening.
Minimum Starting Rate: $20.70/hour
Up to: $25.88/hour
Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to salary, associates may be eligible for bonuses, sales incentives, and long-term incentives depending on role.
