Job Title: UX/UI Designer & Testing Lead
Job Type: 12-Month Contract
Job Location: Tallahassee, FL
Job Summary:
We are looking for a versatile and experienced UX/UI Designer & Testing Lead to guide the design and testing phases of enterprise-level software projects. This hybrid role combines user experience design expertise with hands-on leadership in software testing and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will drive user-centered design practices, create compelling UI mockups, and lead testing strategy—ensuring seamless, user-friendly, and high-quality software experiences that align with business and technical goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- UX/UI Design Responsibilities:Provide strategic guidance for UI/UX design and requirements gathering aligned with program and business objectives.
- Apply user-centered design methodologies in cross-functional collaboration to develop business and system requirements.
- Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to communicate design ideas.
- Ensure the user experience remains central throughout the design and development process.
- Facilitate and incorporate user and stakeholder feedback into iterative design cycles.
- Review design-related deliverables for consistency, usability, and effectiveness.
- Testing Lead Responsibilities:Lead and manage comprehensive software testing and quality assurance initiatives across the project.
- Design and implement automation test strategies and frameworks using appropriate tools.
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts.
- Collaborate with manual testers to identify and transition suitable test cases into automation.
- Conduct user testing sessions and incorporate feedback into the design and development process.
- Write clear and actionable test plans, test cases, and testing documentation.
- Communicate bugs and quality issues clearly to developers and other stakeholders.
- Conduct code reviews of test scripts and provide best practice guidance to the testing team.
- Monitor and manage the testing process using Quality Management Software and tools.
- Translate technical requirements and test plans into practical, executable solutions.
- Identify critical bugs and defects early in the development process.
- Qualifications:5+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design and mockup/wireframe creation.
- Proven experience as a software testing lead, including both manual and automated testing.
- Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles, UX strategy, and accessibility standards.
- Proficient in design tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, or similar.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, TestComplete).
- Ability to write detailed test plans and effectively communicate defects.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and software development life cycles (SDLC).
- Solid understanding of technical aspects of software systems and business processes.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and analytical skills.
- Preferred Skills:Experience in enterprise environments or large-scale systems.
- Familiarity with agile or hybrid project methodologies.
- Background in business process analysis and technical requirement translation.
- Ability to quickly identify and resolve usability or quality issues under tight timelines.
