We are seeking an Art Director to lead and shape the creative vision for clients across a variety of categories (B2B, D2C, SMB etc) at Right Side Up. This role demands a creative leader who can seamlessly blend digital innovation with traditional brand-building expertise. You'll be responsible for overseeing the creative process, inspiring and overing a small team of writers and talent, and ensuring the delivery of innovative, high-quality, and strategically creative assets that make a meaningful impact for our clients.As a key partner the Art Director will build trusting relationships, collaborating across departments to bring groundbreaking ideas to life. The ideal candidate is a creative chameleon, equally comfortable leading brainstorms, developing campaigns, and advocating for the team in client Presentations. Responsibilities
Creative Leadership:
Shape and oversee the creative vision across a variety of clients, ensuring that all work is innovative, strategically sound, and executed to the highest standards.Client Engagement:
Build and maintain productive relationships with clients, effectively presenting and selling creative ideas while integrating feedback to meet client objectives.Team Management:
Inspire, mentor, and manage a small team of freelancers and talent, fostering a collaborative, supportive, and innovative environment.Cross-Department Collaboration:
Work closely with internal stakeholders to amplify Right Side Ups marketing efforts to ensure cohesive and effective campaigns that align with company goals.Execution Excellence:
Develop and execute compelling visual ideas across a variety of media, including digital, social, experiential, OOH, PR, and traditional platforms.Trend Awareness:
Stay current with industry trends and cultural shifts, bringing fresh, strategic ideas to the table and sharing insights with the team.Resource Management:
Manage and assign out projects to appropriate talent, ensuring deadlines are met and budgets adhered to.Storytelling & Craftsmanship:
Maintain a keen design eye and masterful storytelling ability, ensuring all work is beautifully crafted and on-brand.New Business & Pitches:
Assist in or lead efforts to develop new business opportunities, contributing to pitches and presentations.Requirements
Experience:
4+ years in a creative advertising agency or similar setting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role leading creative teams.Creative Expertise:
Mastery of concepting, campaign development, and cross-channel creative execution, with expert-level proficiency in Figma & Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator). Experience with Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Slides) and Slack is a plus.Client & Team Management:
Proven ability to manage up and down, coaching and mentoring a growing team while maintaining trusting relationships with clients.Strategic Thinking:
Ability to think broadly and strategically about campaigns, with a deep understanding of each client's business model, key issues, and competitive landscape.Communication Skills:
Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.Adaptability:
