ABOUT THE ROLE:
Location: Remote in New York State, Boston, MA, or Portland, OR
Reports To: Chief Growth Officer
We are looking for a Director of Marketing to drive our brand positioning, demand generation, and customer engagement strategies. This role requires deep expertise in B2B marketing within the energy sector, with experience working for, or marketing to, companies like Wood Mackenzie, ICF, Itron, Siemens, ABB, GE, or major utilities.
In this role, you will:
Marketing Strategy & Messaging
Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to position GridUnity as a leader in grid analytics and clean energy solutions.
Craft compelling, industry-specific messaging that resonates with utilities, grid operators, and energy market stakeholders.
Establish and refine GridUnity’s brand identity to align with evolving market trends and customer needs.
Programmatic & Account-Based Marketing (ABM)
Lead programmatic marketing campaigns, leveraging data-driven insights to generate demand and nurture high-value prospects.
Develop and execute ABM strategies to engage target accounts, working closely with Sales to drive pipeline growth.
Utilize marketing automation tools (HubSpot, Marketo, or equivalent) to segment audiences and personalize outreach.
Branding, Communications & Content Development
Oversee brand consistency across all channels, including digital, print, and event marketing.
Manage thought leadership initiatives, including white papers, industry reports, case studies, and webinars.
Create and execute a content strategy that amplifies GridUnity’s voice in the clean energy transition.
Event Marketing & Industry Engagement
Develop and execute event marketing strategies to enhance GridUnity’s presence at key industry conferences, trade shows, and partner events.
Oversee event sponsorships, booth designs, speaker engagements, and networking activities to maximize brand visibility.
Work with internal teams to develop compelling event content, including presentations, panel discussions, and promotional materials.
Leverage post-event marketing strategies to nurture leads and build long-term relationships with attendees.
Social Media & Digital Presence
Develop and oversee a multi-channel digital strategy, including LinkedIn, Twitter, and other industry-relevant platforms.
Manage website content, SEO, and digital advertising to enhance lead generation and brand visibility.
Track and analyze social media performance to refine messaging and engagement strategies.
Internal Marketing & Sales Enablement
Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Executive teams to ensure internal alignment on marketing initiatives.
Develop sales enablement materials, including presentations, competitive analysis, and customer success stories.
Lead internal communications efforts to keep employees informed and engaged with company initiatives.
ABOUT YOU:
5+ years of experience in B2B marketing, preferably within the energy industry, grid modernization, utilities, or clean tech sectors.
Proven experience in messaging, branding, demand generation, and programmatic marketing.
Expertise in ABM, digital marketing, content development, social media strategy, and event marketing.
Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into compelling narratives.
Experience with CRM and marketing automation tools (HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, etc.).
Proven success in planning and executing industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
Ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and external partners.
Bonus: Knowledge of energy policy, regulatory trends, or experience working with organizations like Wood Mackenzie, ICF, or leading utilities.
