We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Senior Graphic Designer to support the visual development and implementation of all branded, wayfinding, and decorative graphics on a new build cruise ship. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, precision, and technical know-how to help translate brand standards into shipboard environments, working closely with architects, engineers, and vendors to ensure design excellence and fabrication feasibility.
You will report to the Manager-Graphic & Fabrication Design.
This is an estimated 60-month Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement.

What You Will Do
Design Development
Develop and apply graphic concepts for wayfinding, environmental branding, safety signage, and decorative installations across the vessel
Create mockups, presentation boards, and digital assets for review by stakeholders
Ensure compliance with cruise line brand guidelines, maritime regulations, and safety standards
Documentation & Production
Prepare detailed design intent packages and production-ready files (vector artwork, layouts, elevations)
Collaborate with signage vendors, fabricators, and interior outfitters to align technical specs and materials with design vision
Assist in producing signage schedules, location plans, and graphic specifications using Excel, Illustrator, or sign management software
Project Coordination
Work alongside architects, engineers, interior designers, and shipyard teams to ensure accurate integration of graphics in architectural and construction drawings
Participate in site visits and inspections (virtually or on location) to review mockups, material samples, and final installations
Track and manage multiple deliverables across tight shipbuilding timelines
Required Qualifications & Skills
7 years of experience in environmental graphics, signage, or cruise ship design preferred
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and basic AutoCAD or Revit
Experience with sign programming tools (e.g., Sign Agent, Excel, Smart Sheet)
Familiarity with materials, substrates, and mounting methods used in marine and hospitality environments
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
Strong organization, communication, and documentation skills
Willingness to travel extensively on various domestic and international assignments as needed supporting Disney Cruise Line assignments
Passport and Valid Driver’s License preferred
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Experience with cruise ship or hospitality new builds
Understanding of SOLAS, ADA, and international maritime safety signage standards
Knowledge of materials suitable for marine environments (e.g., etched metal, high-performance vinyls, marine grade aluminum, stainless steel, LED lighting, etc.)
Comfort working within a multidisciplinary team across global locations and time zones
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Environmental Design, Industrial Design, or a related field
