The role / Position overview
With over 170 subscribing investment management firms, MandateWire is a successful subscription business covering the investment activities of institutional investors across the globe.
We are looking for an inquisitive and creative journalist to join our team of reporters based in New York and produce daily news stories on North American institutional investors - predominantly pension funds, foundations, and insurers - within their specific beat.

Key responsibilities
- Produce accurate and engaging news content focused on institutional investor activity in North America
- Build and maintain a network of senior investment decision-maker contacts
- Conduct interviews and gather insights from pension funds, foundations, and insurance executives
- Monitor and analyse large volumes of data and financial reports
- Enter and maintain data records to support MandateWire's coverage
- Collaborate with editorial and research colleagues to meet content and data deadlines
Required skills / experience
- Excellent and professional telephone manner
- Ability to engage confidently with senior executives and establish rapport
- Strong organisational skills; capable of managing time, scheduling interviews, and meeting deadlines
- Analytical attitude with the ability to extract relevant content from complex financial information
- Comfortable with digital tools and general data entry tasks
- Meticulous and composed under pressure
- Effective multi-tasker with the ability to prioritise workloads
Desirable
- Journalism experience within a related field, especially covering investments and pensions
- Experience interviewing sophisticated senior executives

Further information
A reasonable estimate of the salary for this role is $65,000. To ensure pay fairness, the successful candidate will be offered a salary within the estimated salary range based on a number of considerations including but not limited to: skill set; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organisational needs. The disclosed range estimate is for our NYC office and has not been adjusted for other locations.
