Job Summary
The communications manager is responsible for overseeing the engaging delivery of written and digital content purposed to convey strategic messaging, audience development, and public relations efforts for campus and community events. This role creates and executes campaigns via print and electronic means, promotions, and grassroots efforts. The manager ensures brand cohesion via consistent voice, tone, and messaging style. This position is a key contributor to both internal and external communications.

Job Responsibilities and Execution
Serves as an institutional expert on Lindenwood voice for written and digital communicationDrafts original content for website, magazine articles, press outreach, and departmental or institutional initiativesCopyedits produced content including University-wide reports, email communication, newsletters, magazine articles, and partner contentMaintains responsibility for Lindenwood's brand and communication across various channelsSupports distribution of emergency communication and timely alertsExecutes internal and external initiatives as guided by supervisor, while supporting project management and constituent requestsAssesses potential new markets, evaluates opportunities, and develops strategies for targeting potential audienceOversees the design, production, review, approval, dissemination, and metrics of event promotion materialsCoordinates web presence and social media for the divisionEnsures compliance and collaboration with University policies and proceduresService Excellence
Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellenceModels, supports, and holds others accountable to the University's valuesBuilds strong community and business relationships to the advantage of the UniversityActs as the campus community's liaison for all internal and external event promotionsCommunication, Teamwork, and Collaboration
Collaborates with and occasionally leads internal teams tasked with key projectsMaintains a thorough knowledge of University crisis communication procedures and systemsCollaborates with campus marketing team for design needs and materialsServes as liaison between the communications team and students, faculty, and staffJob may require other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
Bachelor's degree in related fieldMinimum 2 years' successful experience in organizational, corporate, or digital communications, copyediting, writing, or project managementMaster's degree preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
