Position Summary
The User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Designer plays a critical role in creating user-centered digital experiences that are visually compelling and functionally effective across Empower Pharmacy's healthcare technology platforms. This Information Technology (IT) position blends user research, interaction design, and visual design to deliver responsive, accessible, and scalable solutions. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and stakeholders, the UX and UI Designer ensures each solution enhances usability, reflects brand consistency, and supports Empower's mission to expand access to personalized, high-quality care through thoughtful, technology-driven innovation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads the design of user-centered digital experiences by translating complex requirements into intuitive workflows, wireframes, and prototypes that support clinical, operational, and patient-facing applications.
- Develops accessible, responsive UIs that adhere to brand guidelines and align with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), ensuring inclusive and consistent experiences across platforms and devices.
- Conducts user research, stakeholder interviews, and usability testing to validate design concepts and continuously improve the overall quality and effectiveness of the user experience.
- Maintains and enhances scalable design systems, including component libraries and visual standards, to promote design consistency, collaboration, and development efficiency across cross-functional teams.
- Synthesizes behavioral data, analytics insights, and qualitative feedback to identify opportunities, drive design decisions, and support the ongoing evolution of Empower's digital product ecosystem.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong communication and research skills, with experience conducting usability testing and applying accessibility standards like WCAG.
- Proficient in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Experience Design, and InVision, with a strong foundation in user-centered and responsive design; familiarity with front-end development principles, Agile collaboration, and mobile-first design is a plus.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a UX/UI Designer or similar role, with a portfolio demonstrating UX processes and visual design expertise; experience with mobile app design and motion tools such as Lottie or Adobe After Effects preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field required.
- Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), User Experience (UX) Certification from Nielsen Norman Group (NN/g), or equivalent.
